A historic graduation ceremony was recently held in Laborie, marking the successful completion of the first cohort under the Community Tourism Basic Training Program. This program, a direct result of the MOU collaboration between the Community Tourism Agency (CTA) and the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, is specifically tailored for tourism accommodation stakeholders. It focuses on raising industry standards and enhancing service quality.

Designed to deliver specialized training in accommodation, food and beverage, and recreational experiences, the program provided hands-on industry exposure, including practical training sessions at Lubeco, where participants explored best practices in hospitality management.

CTA CEO Dahlia Guard highlighted the immense progress made by the trainees throughout the six-week program, commending their ability to embrace new ideas, master customer service, enhance cultural awareness, and refine their understanding of sustainable practices.
