The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) has called on the United Kingdom Government to remove its requirement for Guyanese nationals to obtain a visa to enter the country.
“The GCCI is of the view that the removal of this requirement will auger well for continued deepening of economic relations between the countries and foster private sector development in both territories. It is with this in mind that the Chamber will make formal representation to the Government of Guyana and the Government of the United Kingdom with a view of urging the respective leaders for examination of the removal of the visa requirement,” the chamber said.
The GCCI’s call follows yesterday’s announcement that British Airways will begin flying to Guyana, for the first time, in March 2023.
