The 4th fastest woman in the world, over 100 meters, is brand Ambassador for 1st National Bank. St. Lucian Julien Alfred was home for the holidays and used the opportunity to sign a partnership agreement and to begin her duties as Brand Ambassador. The announcement was made at a ceremony held in the bank’s boardroom where her recent accomplishments were celebrated. Alfred, who is set to graduate from the University of Texas in May 2023, was humbled by the appointment of Brand Ambassador. 1st National Bank believes Julien Alfred’s story of extraordinary commitment and determination to represent St. Lucia at the highest levels was a natural fit for the bank.
Immediately after signing the partnership agreement Ms. Alfred engage young athletes at the bank’s offices in the north and south of the island answering questions about her athletic journey which started when she was nine years old. At 11 she joined the Speed Printing Survivors Club coached by Cuthbert Modeste.
After two years at the Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School, Alfred moved to Jamaica where she completed her Secondary School education and matured into a world class athlete. Her advice to young athletes is to make the best use of opportunities presented but cautioned that the journey is tough. The St. Lucian athlete spoke of her plans for 2023 and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Ms. Alfred revealed to young athletes that her secret to success has been the three D’s -discipline, dedication, and determination.
