New book illustrates how to attain peace and happiness through self-examination
Jacques L. Koko, Ph.D., announces publication of ‘Facing Existential Contradictions’

SALISBURY, Md. — “Facing Existential Contradictions: Self-Examination as a Tool for Peace and Happiness Volume 1” (published by Balboa Press), a new book by Jacques L. Koko, Ph.D., aims to show how to reconcile existential contradictions to find happiness by self-examination through the life story and adventures of Suru.

Taking place mainly in the pseudonymous republic of Nineb — the author has changed the names of the actual country and characters for confidentiality — the book relies on Suru’s life story to explain how every human existence is made of contradictions or conflicts and self-examination creates transformation and transcendence. Within the book, it is Suru’s mother Iya who acts as a mentor, teacher and coach who nurtures, inspires and motivates Suru.

“There are many books on peacemaking, but none of them offers a perspective on self-examination as a strategy for peacemaking as this book does,” Koko says, adding that he wants readers to know “Regardless of the contradictions we face, we can always make peace with ourselves and with others by the means of self-examination, and subsequently achieve happiness for us and them.”
