Three Saint Lucians Featured as Visionary Women in Tourism

Three outstanding Saint Lucian women who have carved a name for themselves in the travel and hospitality landscape are celebrated for their pioneering and visionary work in tourism. Forty-two women were featured in the inaugural issue of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s Sea Suite published in March 2025 headlined “Caribbean Women Leadership Celebration”. Amongst them is Donalyn Vittet the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information.  

Ms. Vittet is celebrated for championing the integration of tourism, culture, and the creative industries for sustainable growth. She was also instrumental in reopening Saint Lucia’s tourism sector post-Covid-19 and helped develop a Joint Tourism Policy for the Caribbean. She has also spearheaded the Community Tourism Programme and legislative reforms to increase local ownership in the industry. The second Saint Lucian is Dona Regis-Prospere the current Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation.

In the publication Mrs. Regis-Prospere notes “I am acutely aware of the power of representation and the importance of fostering opportunities for women in tourism” adding that “your achievements, vision, and perseverance are transforming the Caribbean tourism landscape. You are trailblazers, innovators, and change-makers, and your influence will continue to inspire for generations to come’. Kelly Fontenelle, the Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority is highlighted as a trailblazer in Caribbean tourism for over two decades “with unmatched expertise in consumer travel trends and the travel agency business”.

 Her innovative consumer and agent campaigns, spanning traditional and digital advertising, have boosted visibility and engagement. She also played a key role in developing successful loyalty programmes and reinforcing the Caribbean’s dominance as a romance destination’. Also featured in the publication is Beverly Nicholson Doty. She is not a Saint Lucia but has served as CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority
