Botham Jean Foundation to Host 2025 Red Tie Gala in Saint Lucia

The Botham Jean Foundation proudly announces its annual Red Tie Gala, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the luxurious Sandals Grande Resort in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia. The highly anticipated event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and promises to be an unforgettable evening of elegance, entertainment, remembrance, and purpose.

This year’s Gala carries special significance as it comes shortly after the anniversary of the tragic killing of Botham Shem Jean on September 6, 2018. Botham, a proud son of Saint Lucia, was a worship leader, community role model, and young professional working with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, Texas. He was tragically shot in his own apartment by an off-duty police officer who mistakenly entered his home.

His death sparked international outrage, difficult but necessary conversations about justice and policing, and inspired an enduring movement to honor his life. The city of Dallas renamed a section of road Botham Jean Boulevard, and Texas passed the ‘Botham Jean Act’ to strengthen police body-camera accountability. In November 2024, his family also won a landmark civil judgment, further underscoring the need for accountability in the pursuit of justice.

Through the Botham Jean Foundation, his legacy of faith, joy, and service lives on. The Foundation continues to empower youth, foster education, and uplift underserved communities across the Caribbean and beyond.

This year’s Gala will feature a dynamic lineup of Caribbean performers, showcasing the region’s rich cultural talent. Guests will enjoy live music from:

The Red Tie Gala serves as a cornerstone fundraising initiative for the Botham Jean Foundation, reflecting its ongoing commitment to inspire positive change while celebrating Caribbean excellence.
