Construction of Saint Lucia’s New Aquatic Centre (NAC) has taken a major step forward, with steelwork now underway on the foundation for the main stand, a crucial phase in the island’s bid to establish itself as a premier destination for competitive swimming.
The aquatic facility, set to feature a 50-meter competition pool and a 25-meter pool, will be instrumental in Saint Lucia’s preparations to host the 40th edition of the CARIFTA Swimming Championship in 2027.
This milestone marks a historic moment for the country, as it gears up to welcome top-tier talent from across the Caribbean to an event that has long been a springboard for future Olympians.
Officials overseeing the project highlight the significance of this steel foundation, not just for the structural integrity of the venue, but for the long-term development of swimming in Saint Lucia.
