Saint Lucia is celebrating a strong cruise tourism season with more cruise lines placing the destination on their calendars much faster than before. With the growing demand for the product, Tourism Officials will continue to proactively create an even more viable enterprise. 2022 ended on a high note for the cruise tourism sector with four inaugural calls between December 12th and 29th. MSC Seaside, Coasta Fascinosa, Zaandam of the Holland America Line, and the largest ship within the Norwegian fleet, Norweigan Encore all graced Port Castries, bringing a combined total of over ten thousand visitors to the island.

In 2022, Tourism officials continued to intentionally position the destination within the cruise realm, participating in several Cruise Association conferences and Trade Shows, while promoting the immersive offerings, and cruise development outlook of the destination. These engagements are reaping fruit with cruise lines, placing Saint Lucia on their itineraries much quicker, than in the past.

The current cruise season projects well over 400 cruise calls, with 260 expected in 2023, of which 6 are inaugural calls.
