IHG Hotels and Resorts has broken ground on the forthcoming Intercontinental Grenada Resort, with a projected opening date of 2025.

The 150-room (and 30 private suite) resort property will be situated on Grenada’s La Sagesse Beach, and will offer a spa, swimming pool, fitness and business centres, 560 sqm of events space, and “an array of restaurant and bar options”.

The hotel will be located next to the forthcoming Six Sense Grenada, which is set to open in 2023 and which will feature 56 rooms, seven one-bedroom villas and five two-bedroom villas, as well as the Great House, which will offer dining experiences in “a flexible series of rooms including a Conservatory, Bakery, Gallery and Beach Dining room”.

La Sagesse Beach is situated in the south of the Caribbean island, around 20km east of Maurice Bishop International airport, which operates direct flights from London with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Commenting on the news Julienne Smith, SVP, Development for IHG Hotels and Resorts, said:

“As the world’s first and largest international luxury travel hotel brand, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts continues to delight guests with new destinations in travel hot spots across the globe.

“We’re looking forward to working alongside Range Developments – one of the leading names in Caribbean hospitality – to bring what surely will be one of the finest resorts in the region to life.”
