Saint Lucian recording artist The Mecca has landed another sync placement with Netflix, having his song Demons featured in the streaming platform’ new film The Killer.
The Killer stars Michael Fassbender as a professional assassin whose latest target pulls him into a treacherous international plot.
Streaming on Netflix beginning Nov. 10, the film also boasts an impressive cast including Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton.
This sync placement comes on the heels of The Mecca and fellow Saint Lucian musician Sherwinn Dupes Brice completing a successful European tour. Spanning September and October, their Paradise Life Euro Tour 2023 brought Caribbean music and culture to Italy, the Netherlands, the UK and Spain.
The vibrant showcase of live performances, fashion exhibits, mixers and more delighted The Mecca crowds in Milan, Amsterdam, London and A Coruña. A networking event on Oct. 22 at The Railway Bar and Grill in London also featured a concert by Dupes and Mecca.
Demons, an aggressive electronic rap song which can be playlisted with the likes of Skrillex and San Holo, was produced by Carnzilla – a Dutch producer based in Germany.
The song’s placement in the David Fincher-directed action thriller marks The Mecca’s second Netflix sync. His first was back in 2017 for an episode of the sitcom Fuller House with his song “Zoom Zoom” which features Sherwinn Dupes Brice and Shepp Dawg.
In addition to Netflix, The Mecca has had his music featured on television networks including VH1, Fox, ABC Family, and the CW.
